What are Vacuum Deaerator Columns ? Dissolved oxygen in feedwater causes serious corrosion damage by attaching to walls of piping and other equipment. Along with oxygen , dissolved carbon dioxide combines with water to form carbonic acid which causes further corrosion. Vacuum deaerators are columns designed to eliminate these gases and protect the process equipment. Vacuum Deaeration Process The vacuum deaeration process is based on reduced solubility of oxygen in water at reduced pressure. By significantly reducing the operating pressure in the vessel extremely low dissolved oxygen levels can be successfully achieved. The Deaerator Column The deaerator vacuum column is a two stage stage vacuum tower in which in which liquid freely falls over the packings in each stage creating a high thin liquid film surface where majority of dissolved gases are removed with a small percentage of water vapour. Finepac has excellent expertise in designing and supplying internals for such deaerator columns. Recently, internals for a vacuum deaearator tower was supplied by Finepac to one of our European client for project in the Middle east. Oil-Gas-Water Three Phase Separators Phase separators are essential equipment in oil and gas production facilities for separating hydrocarbons (oil and gas) from water and other impurities that are present in the well fluids. The separated oil and gas are then transported to processing facilities for further processing. There are several types of separators including but not limited to test separators, two phase separators, three phase separators and four phase separators (where solids are present) used in either horizontal or vertical configurations depending upon the characteristics of the well fluids and the desired separation efficiency. These separators are incorporated with separator internals like inlet devices, baffles, coalescers, demisters which increase the separation efficiency of the separator. In recent years, there have been significant advancements in separator technology. For example, some new separators use more advanced materials and coatings that improve their durability and resistance to corrosion. Additionally, some new separators use enhanced gravity technologies that allow for more efficient separation of the hydrocarbons from the water. These advancements in separator technology have several benefits. First, they can improve the efficiency of oil and gas production by reducing the amount of time and resources needed to separate and transport the hydrocarbons. Second, they can help reduce emissions by limiting the amount of gas that is flared or vented during the production process. Finally, they can improve safety by reducing the risk of leaks or spills that can occur during the separation process.
