IRTE's journey since 1991 has dwelt upon developing infrastructure in the fields of traffic engineering, public participation & building awareness. Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE), a non-profit organization, was formed in December 1991 by interdisciplinary group of members including educationists, doctors, journalists, engineers, ex-servicemen, architects, automobile experts and members of the police etc. with a single aim to make the Indian roads safer for those who use them.
